We're 2 + months into switching to paleo way of eating. And we've been a good boy and girl about following the plan to the letter. For a couple that used to imbibe when a snack or sweet attack hit, we have been amazing in doing away with snacks, sweets altogether, allowing our bodies to re-acclimate, realign and recharge our metabolism. But of late I have been having those late evening sweet snack cravings, and looking for what would be paleo worthy.
Found a couple of things, and quick too, and already in our freezer/pantry! A happy thank you to the people at Paleo Plan for saving me from my surprise attack in form of a sweet craving. Happy paleoing - Lietta

Makes a snack for two. Fresh berries are best, but frozen may be
used if needed.
Approximate cooking time: 5 minutes
- 5 oz fresh berries
- 4 tsp balsamic vinegar
- 1/3 cup slivered almonds
- Wash and slice fresh berries (if needed).
- Evenly separate the berries between two small bowls.
- Pour 2 tsp of balsamic vinegar over each serving.
- Top with slivered almonds.
Makes a snack for two.
Approximate preparation time: 5 minutes
- 1 cup berries
- 1/4 cup whole fat canned coconut milk (preferably the cream at the top of the can)
- 1/2 of a fresh lime
- Divide berries between two small bowls.
- Add coconut milk, and sprinkle with lime juice.

Hey, thanks for taking a moment to comment, suggestions are welcome! We are serious about learning to eat paleo. We are also not your strong, athletic, well-trained young people, Heck we are not even young any more. Moving along in age, and having those aches and pains characteristic for older people, we hope the paleo way of eating will help us in our older years by giving us some relief from the aches and pains, restoring more vitality and open the doors to remaining active.
